lucy
Lucy completed a foundation course at Trinity College of Music in 2003 and went on to study for BA in music at Durham University from where she graduated with honours in 2006. During her time at Durham, Lucy sang as a choral scholar at University College and sang with the University Chamber Choir and the Palatinate Choir attached to Durham Cathedral. Lucy had solo appearances in university productions of Dido and Aeneas (Belinda) and Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Gondoliers (Casilda) and The Mikado (Peep-bo). Lucy also took her turn at managing the University Chamber Choir and working at the Cheltenham International Festival of music during her university years.
Lucy is currently training on a graduate management programme with the National Health Service and studying for a master’s degree in Human Resources management with Middlesex University and the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

katie
Mezzo-soprano Katie Brake graduated from Birmingham Conservatoire where she studied with Christine Cairns, in June 2006, having gained both a BMus(Hons) and a PGDip in Music Performance. She currently combines singing-teaching and performing in and around Bristol.

Katie has appeared in a variety of operatic roles including Second Witch in Purcell’s Dido and Aneas, Hen in Janacek’s Cunning Little Vixen, Natura in Cavalli’s La Callisto, Cherubino in scenes from Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro, Driade in scenes from Strauss’ Ariadne auf Naxos and Fortune Teller in the world premier of Robin Grant’s opera Dee. She has been fortunate enough to work with some highly acclaimed musical directors including Jeffrey Skidmore, Stephen Barlow, Orlando Jopling and Andrew Greenwood. She has appeared in the chorus of Stanley Hall Opera Company for their productions of Rossini’s Pietra del Paragone and Verdi’s Falstaff, and as part of their ‘Young Artists’ Programme’ in their performances of the Bach Magnificat, Haydn’s Nelson Mass and Mozart’s Coronation Mass.

emily
Emily is currently a primary school teacher in West London. She trained at Roehampton University where she was a member of the University Chamber Choir, and orchestra and frequently led music as President of the Christian Union. Before leaving to study, Emily was a member of The Bristol Schools Chamber Choir (which she joined at the age of seven) and The Bristol Cathedral Girls’ Choir under the direction of Robert Latham. She plays the violin, guitar and the piano and at secondary school level achieved a scholarship to study both violin and singing.

Whilst leading a busy life teaching, Emily oversees music at the Primary School in which she teaches. As the music subject leader, her role includes taking weekly whole school singing sessions, developing music throughout the school and is currently heading up the silver sing-up award for the school.

eloise
Eloise currently teaches singing to over 30 children at The Downs School in Bristol. She also conducts a Junior and Chamber Choir at the School, and in May 2009, five choirs from different prep Schools (150 voices in total) came together to sing two choral pieces at Clifton College Chapel under Eloise’s Direction. She has recently started teaching at Redland High School where she hopes to build her timetable over the next year.
Eloise began singing seriously at the age of 15 when she successfully auditioned for the Bristol Cathedral Girls’ Choir, where she was Head Chorister for two years. Shortly afterwards she joined the Bristol Schools’ Chamber Choir, and under the private tuition of Robert Latham gained both a Guildhall Recital Diploma and an ALCM in Music Theatre. She has been directing both the Junior and Intermediate sections of the Bristol Schools’ Chamber Choir for 5 years. Eloise has performed as lead soprano with The Bristol Gilbert and Sullivan Society and at the Buxton Opera House with their 2004 production of ‘The Sorcerer’ and 2005 production ‘HMS Pinafore’ as part of the Gilbert and Sullivan Festival .
She is a member of ‘On That Note’, a musical comedy revue show who perform at private and corporate events. Most recent Musicals include Side by Side By Sondheim, The Farmers wife and The Shell Seekers. Her next performance on stage is in June 2010.
claire
Claire began singing at the age of seven when she successfully auditioned for the Bristol Schools’ Chamber Choir. At twelve years old, she joined the Bristol Cathedral Girls’ choir, where she was appointed head chorister in her final year. During this period, Claire began individual singing lessons with Robert Latham, obtaining her grade 8 with distinction, as well as a Guildhall Recital Diploma. In 2003 she came first place as ‘Young Singer’ at Bristol Eisteddfod.
Claire went to study Product Design at Leeds University, and during this time was invited to sing with the Leeds Cathedral Choir, as well as the Leeds Gilbert and Sullivan Society, where she took the lead soprano role in their 2007 production of Goldoliers.
She has performed as guest soloist at Bristol Cathedral, being invited back twice for performances of Pergoleisi’s Stabat Mater.
After completing her degree, Claire returned to Bristol, and is currently working on freelance design projects, running art workshops in primary schools, and working in a chocolate shop. She is also currently a member of Clifton Cathedral Choir.
angharad
Angharad graduated from the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts in 2008, after gaining her BA (Hons) in Theatre and Performance Design. Whilst studying she designed many productions, including ”The Boys in the Photograph” (originally called “The Beautiful Game”) where she worked closely alongside Ben Elton and Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Before University Angharad gained a Guildhall recital Diploma in singing and now that she has graduated Angharad is focusing on her singing career. At present she is studying with Elizabeth Donovan and Michael Pollock (WNO). Angharad is currently designing the set for a production of Bizet’s Pearl Fishers with the Bristol Operatic Society.
This year Angharad has appeared as soloist with the Bristol Cathedral Concert Choir and Portishead Choral Society, singing the Monte-Verdi Vespers. She has been soloist for the Cathedral Chamber Choir performing Bach’s St John Passion. Angharad has also been soloist for Marshfield Choral Society this year, singing Handel’s Messiah.
